WHAT'S NEW AT trinity?

By Angie Eisenacher 12 Apr, 2024
Happy Friday Trinity Catholic Families! The Gospel this morning at Mass was the story when Jesus performed the miracle of turning the 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish into enough to feed 5 thousand people that had followed him to the mountain. Father reminded us in his homily that had it not been for the generosity of the little boy who had the 5 loaves and 2 fish, that Jesus would probably not been able to perform that miracle. The important lesson from this is that we must all be generous with our talents and gifts that God gives us. When we share them with others, we also share them with God! I challenge you as parents, like I did with the Kindergarteners and First Graders this morning, to share your gifts and talents with your children and others this weekend. Happy Friday Trinity Catholic Families! I hope that you all had a wonderful Easter celebration with your families! This morning our Campus Ministry team kicked off our new word for the month of April: PERSEVERANCE! Students watched a Disney Mash Up of movies where the characters showed perseverance. So many wonderful examples in these great movies! Then they were shown a clip from The Chosen when Peter, who owed a great deal of debt, was having no luck catching any fish to pay it back. He was defeated and feeling low. Then, Jesus appeared on the shore and told Peter to cast out his net and the fish were so plentiful that it nearly sank his boat. Jesus gave Peter that faith to persevere. Father Andrew reminded us of this during his homily as well. We can always put our trust in God to help us through any tough times or the strength to always push ourselves to achieve more! These last couple of months of school are going to be busy and even hard at times. Trust in God. Lean into your faith in Him. Show your children by your great example of what that looks like at home too! Show your perseverance here by making it to the end of this newsletter! Sorry, it's a long one this week! This Sunday, April 7th is Divine Mercy Sunday! Bishop Fernandes will be at Saint Christopher Church to celebrate a special Mass with us at 3:00pm! ALL ARE INVITED AND ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND! It would be wonderful if we could have many of our students and families there to represent our school for the Bishop! I hope to see you there! School News: Eclipse Day is April 8th. REMINDER THAT THERE WILL BE NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY DUE TO THE ECLIPSE! All students have been learning about this event and have received a free pair of glasses to safely view the eclipse from home. A special THANKS to Tremont Pharmacy for this generous donation! Happy Friday Trinity Catholic Families! Welcome back from Spring Break! We hit the ground running here and have had an amazing time preparing for Holy Week. Our students in grades 3-8 attended Reconciliation on Tuesday. Please join me in praying that they grow in God's healing grace. Our Faith Family Groups met yesterday where we traced our PALMS, cut them out and wrote about how we each have done God's work this past month. At the introduction to March's Word of the Month-God's Work, the students were taught the phrase Ora Et Labora. This means Pray and Work. Today, we prayed and sat in God's presence through our first ever Eucharist Adoration. It was a beautiful way to end our week and we are looking forward to making Eucharist Adoration a monthly event! A special thank you to Mrs. Doyle for the beautiful music and to Ms. Schoen for her calming words to help guide our reflection and prayer. A special Polish Lenten Dinner will be offered tonight in our school cafeteria from 6:00-9:00pm! The Pierogi dinner plate includes: 6 pierogi, crepe, coleslaw salad, drink and dessert for $15! I hope to see you there! School News: Thank you so much to all the families that re-enrolled your child(ren) before the March 15th deadline! This helps us so much with the planning and budgeting for next year! The Catholic Conference is again going to host a Advocacy Day at the state house to help promote our efforts with School Choice. If you are interested in attending please follow the link: https://www.votervoice.net/OHCATHOLIC/Events/7714/Register Renewal Ed Choice time is upon us as well. I have attached the renewal form, along with the updated sliding award scale for those of you that got the new EdChoice Expansion Scholarship this year. They went from a range of percentages to awards based on your exact poverty level percentage. This will give you a good idea of how much of a scholarship you can expect for the 24-25 school year. It's important to know that unless you expect a decrease in your income level this coming year, you do not need to verify your income again. They will go by what you qualified on this school year. THE EXCEPTION TO THIS RULE IS IF YOU ARE CONSIDERED LOW INCOME (UNDER THE 250% POVERTY LEVEL AND PAY NO TUITION AT ALL)! IF YOU QUALIFIED WITH THIS STATUS YOU MUST RE-VERIFY YOUR INCOME EVERY YEAR! Eclipse Day is April 8th. While we originally had planned on having school this day, all of our surrounding schools have cancelled and thus there will be no bussing on this day. Happy Friday Trinity Catholic Families! During this Lenten season, we have been reciting the Act of Contrition each morning. This is a great reminder of our brokenness as a person and how God loves each of us unconditionally! One of our teachers recently wrote in a staff email, "God's love is truly evident in our school!" This Saturday, our St. Christopher 2nd graders will make their First Reconciliation! Please keep them in your prayers and they experience this sacrament for the very first time! Pray that they feel God's love always! EXCITING SPORTS NEWS......We have 2 teams in the championship games this weekend! Our 6th grade girls will be playing Saturday at 11:30am at St. Brigid.
