Friday Fanfare

September 22, 2017

Dear Trinity Families,

Growing up, I had no formal religion in my life, and I attended public schools. My husband who was the youngest of six, on the other hand, was born and raised Catholic. He attended St. Leo Catholic School through the 8th grade and then came to the public school, Barrett Junior High, where we met. We later became high school sweethearts and continued dating through college. Being around his Catholic family, especially his very faith-filled mom, made me realize that I was missing something in my life. I became Catholic in 1989, got married, and began teaching at St. Leo. Once kids entered the scene, we had no doubt that a Catholic education would be in the picture for our children. From Trinity, both Elli and Jacob went on to attend Catholic high schools. Having that Catholic foundation both at home and at school set them on a positive path in life, and I am so proud of the adults they have become. We celebrate Catholic Schools Week next week. I know that it is a huge sacrifice to send your children to a Catholic school, and I thank you for making that sacrifice! It is a sacrifice worth making!
