Friday Fanfare

March 2, 2018

Dear Trinity Families,

The third pillar of Lent is almsgiving. Almsgiving means donating money or goods to the poor and performing other acts of charity. The Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl program is one very concrete way to give money to those less fortunate. Each student received a Rice Bowl box to take home. More than $250 million has been raised since the Rice Bowl began supporting programs that prevent hunger and poverty around the world as well as in the United States. I am always so surprised that such small amounts of American money can provide so much more in poor and developing countries. Agriculture projects, water and sanitation projects, mother and child health projects, and education projects are just some of the ways your donation can help others. Think about skipping that drink at McDonald’s or Starbucks and throwing that money instead into your Rice Bowl box. A little sacrifice on our parts goes a long way in helping others!

With God’s blessings,

            Kimber Moehrman, Principal
